Wonderful work you guys :) We accomplished SO MUCH. Basically, we had a holiday party (thanks to all the people who brought in food).
1. Taylor L. is now our elected secretary.
2. Taylor and Emily started a banner.
3. We planned eco-friendly ideas for the winter.
4. We recycled paper in the science wings.
During winter break, please consider the Greenhouse. We need ideas for what we are going to do with it. Ranjani suggested that we could sell roses for Valentine's Day, and that sounds pretty dandy. Also we need to think of events or activities we could do during the winter (and because it is winter, please note that we can't go to the beach or go kite flying). Anyway, if you have any ideas, email us or add a comment to the blog. Thanks.
Well, that's it! Happy Kwanzaa! Happy Hanukkah! Merry Christmas! Happy New Year! Happy Holidays!

Hi Everyone,
WHOO HOO Snowday has come! Happy winter break!
Back to business:
1. Taylor had an excellent idea for an eco-friendly project... to make handmade jewelry! I found this site http://www.ehow.com/how_2237575_recycled-paper-beads.html that has a pretty good method, and maybe we can use the recycled paper from the bins to make it, just so we can say we're wearing RCK... haha
2. Carolyn R. thought of these winter ideas:
-snowshoeing
-snowtubing
-skiing/ snowboarding @ Jiminy Peak
-fundraising (I have a sheet printed out for you of ideas)
That's all for now.
The only problem with the method is that you have to cook the paper, and idk if we can do that in school... so i'll find different methods and see what's best... what do you all think?

This site says that we can also pour boiling water over the paper as well, which could work because we have bunsen burners in the science room... I'll ask Mr. Manzo, Mr. Delaney, and Mr. Luhmann if we can use the bunsen burners.
would you paint the paper before or after boiling it?
hmm after i would think... only because the paint might like get washed out by the water... what do you think?
yeah I think after is best.
Here is the attendance for the last meeting...
