January 6th, 2009 UPDATES!

Hi everyone. Happy 2009! Hope you guys had a great winter break.

Anyway, we accomplished many things on Jan. 6th, 2009.
1. Wrote the Greenhouse proposal to Mrs. Lazarus
2. Recycled paper from the science wing, math office, and Mrs. Flanigan's room
3. Finished painting our RCK Green Works flag which is now in our showcase that we cleared
4. Jotted some ideas about the showcase

Attendance Sheet:
1. Taylor L.
2. Lindsey C.
3. Emily D.
4. Tom C.
5. Victoria L.
6. Ranjani S.
7. Daniel S.
8. Jenna D.
9. Carolyn R.
10. Rhia D.

For the next meeting (hopefully, Tuesday, January 13th), please think of new ideas for our showcase. So far, we have thought of a "Clean and Green" and "Toxic/Global Warming" side. ** Also, we have thought of an idea to write thank you letters to those teachers involved with helping RCK Green Works (like the science teachers). **

They're not really thank you letters, just a brief statement on what the person did for the environment.

Hi guys,
Mrs. Calabrese from the junior high recently emailed me about this site for green fundraising. I was thinking that we could use this when we need to.

I also found this site... it's great! Pick a charity (WWF, AmberWatch Foundation, etc.) and start using the website. Every click you make, the site donates a penny to that charity.

This site is more or less the same... it just has a school as an option for your donation as well.

Soo use these sites, guys!

Also, I think that Earth Hour is a GREAT thing for us to participate in. March 28th, 2009, at 8:30pm, many people will turn off ALL of their lights to promote environmental awareness. Let's do that, too!

If you like good, soft makeup brushes or eco-friendly bath brushes/sponges/etc., check out this website. It has great reviews on Amazon.

I also found out that Radio Shack does accept batteries to recycle, so recycle them! Or you can give them to me to recycle for you
